Creating Layers, Views

The Elina theme features multiple custom views. A view is basically a dynamic element which collects data of some form and displays it in another form. The following are examples of views. These will be described in more detail later in this section.

  1. Portfolio grid
  2. Slider
  3. Carousel
  4. Reusable Layout Element
  5. Gallery + Lightbox
  6. Blog

To create a view you must first specify 2 important characteristics. What kind of data will be used in this view, meaning where will its content come from, and then how will this content be displayed. Depending on what type of content is selected, the possibilities for displaying this content will change. In the Elina theme, the following is a list of content sources for views:

  1. Posts
  2. Pages
  3. Media
  4. Videos
  5. Projects
  6. Staff Members
  7. Services
  8. Testimonials
  9. Logos
  10. Slides
  11. Gallery
  12. Layout*

This fill list may not be initially available to you when you have installed the theme. Before elements will appear on this list and hence be available for use in a view, they must first be created. This means for example that it will not be possible to use projects in a view until at least one project has already been created.

The Layout elements on that list is a special elements and will be dealt with separately later in this section.
